Raman deferred a Ph.D. program in physical chemistry to teach high school math. He shared his love of math with students by establishing a calculus program and motivating them to pursue STEM degrees. 

As an independent consultant, Raman works with organizations to improve their operations. His corps experience increased his desire to use his technical ability to improve things for less fortunate people.

As the son of immigrants who grew up in a low-income community, Howard (Houston '10) knows the challenges one faces en route to higher education. After teaching high school in the corps, he's now using his leadership skills in the business sector.

Connor shares how his career path was shaped by his connection to the close-knit alumni community in the Bay Area.

With a background in PR, Chad initially thought he would move on to a career path in broadcast journalism or law after his time in the classroom. However, those years—and most of all his students—completely changed his trajectory. After teaching for six more years Chad now works as a school system administrator for San Mateo County.

Caroline chose to stay in the classroom for nearly a decade to hone her teaching skills. She was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2018 for her hard work and dedication. She now focuses on curriculum design.

After advocating for Dallas students as special assistant to the superintendent and as Dallas director for Stand For Children, Miguel became the youngest person to be elected school board president at 28.

Ben Sperling's time in the classroom led him to create a nonprofit that brings college and career readiness to life for underserved students in Atlanta.

With experience creating and implementing literacy curricula in D.C. and abroad, Erin is now an instructional coach, guiding teachers in best practices and analyzing student data.

Peter Stephan's devotion to public service grew in the corps, which led him to law school, followed by jobs at the Department of Justice and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Cody Stipes is a 2011 Indianapolis corps member and Chief Operating Officer at Cold Spring School in Indianapolis.
