Need-Based Financial Support is designed to supplement the baseline stipend packages all incoming corps members will receive automatically with their offer to join Teach For America. If, after reviewing their transition costs, corps members find they need extra financial support, they can apply for need-based assistance. Most support is offered as interest-free loans, with some grants available for those with the highest need. This includes Pell Grant recipients and and those from low-income backgrounds who do not receive federal student aid. Each package is determined based on regional costs, the stipend already offered, and the personal financial information you provide.
