This Teach For America Alum Believes Every Great Leader Needs a Coach

In this video profile, we meet Teach For America alum Rachel Vicente (Chicago-Northwest Indiana ’12), CEO and founder of Rachel Vicente Consulting, which provides leadership development and project advising for nonprofits and businesses. She shares how her supportive teacher coach from her time in the corps influenced her growth and leadership–and led her to create her own business to do the same for clients.

Rachel Vicente credits the support, guidance, and positive relationships she developed with her mentors in Teach For America for her decision to become a coaching consultant. She is a Chicago-Northwest Indiana 2012 alum who leaned on her support system, including teacher leaders, coaches, and colleagues, to be an effective teacher. Through this experience, she developed a profound appreciation for influential leadership that encourages the success of others. Today, she helps aspiring professionals and organizations cultivate their own unique leadership styles, overcome challenges, and achieve their professional and personal goals. Her dedication to empowering others began in the classroom and now transcends to the wider community.
