Rachel Malarich is an assistant director of environmental services for the Koreatown Youth and Community Center, an organization serving the evolving needs of Korean Americans and the multiethnic Koreatown community in the greater Los Angeles. Rachel focuses on building relationships and engaging local residents in caring for newly planted trees in Koreatown neighborhoods.
Rachel previously served as Los Angeles's first city forest officer, supporting the city's goal of planting 90,000 trees by 2021 and creating more equitable green spaces in underserved neighborhoods. Read more about Rachel in One Day.
