Growing up in the Rio Grande, Sarah experienced first-hand what the lack of educational opportunities could do to a community and their perspective of a successful quality-of-life. To expand education possibilities for all students, Sarah interned, then joined TFA as a corp member and has since embarked on her journey in college counseling - providing guidance, mentorship and hope for students looking for a better future.

Jessica Bledsoe’s career switch to teaching began with chance words from her college mentor who saw the teacher in her. In 2008, she joined Teach For America in Los Angeles, and after one year of teaching, Jessica knew her career change to teaching would be permanent, lasting long after her two-year TFA commitment.

Crystal Perry has devoted her career to education since she began teaching in Metro Atlanta in 2000. She has more than 20 years of experience in educational leadership, coaching, and managing strategic partnerships.

Tamika's experience in the corps fueled her career ambitions for removing barriers for marginalized students to succeed in K-12, college, and beyond.

Zikia's teaching experience honed her skills as a communicator and creative problem-solver. She channels those talents in her career as an educator, consultant, and writer.

Elena's corps experience broadened her perspective on systemic inequity, which now infuses her work in higher education.

Caroline chose to stay in the classroom for nearly a decade to hone her teaching skills. She was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2018 for her hard work and dedication. She now focuses on curriculum design.
