A desire to get firsthand experience and meet people impacted by educational policy inspired Aviva to join TFA’s corps. She taught for four years before taking on a variety of policy roles. Today, she leads a company that empowers voters.

As co-founder and executive director of Education Rights Counsel, Lauren Micek Vargas (New York '07) advocates for educational equity for Nebraska’s most vulnerable children by removing legal barriers so all children stay in school and thrive.

Vanessa co-founded ImmSchools, an immigrant-led nonprofit partnering with educators and community leaders to ensure safe and inclusive schools for undocumented and mixed-status students and families.

Blanca Adriana Ontiveros taught bilingual special education, organized teachers to advocate for inclusive education policies, and mentored immigrant youth activists. Now, she empowers youth across the country to mobilize during elections and make their voices heard.

Evalaurene Jean-Charles is the co-founder and CEO of Black on Black Education, a nonprofit focused on transforming, revolutionizing, reimagining, and recreating education in the Black community.

Kirby Broadnax's Teach For America experience continues to be meaningful years later. As a Connecticut 2008 corps member, Kirby gained a wealth of skills that she applies to her current work, including backwards planning that enables her to effectively reach her goals.

As a teacher, Richard was obsessed with the big picture of his students' education and realized it takes an entire ecosystem of people to support student success. He continues to pursue those passions in his career as a community organizer.
