Q & A

How did you find out about Teach For America and what led you to apply?

I found out about Teach For America through word-of-mouth. After speaking with alumni and other friends, who were considering applying, I became convinced value and perspective I could bring to the classroom as a male teacher of color.

How did you find your current job? Why were you attracted to it?

I was recruited as a business analyst by two TFA alums. After about a year as an analyst, I turned my sights on product management. Product management presented itself as the right role for someone looking to make a change and improve the lives of customers.

Do you use any skills and beliefs you developed in your work today?

One of the skills I learned that I still use every day is vision setting. As a product manager, you set a roadmap for your product and your clients. You determine the direction of the product and it is up to you to outline the steps to achieve that vision.
